Hello,

snorkling in the bay, i found this interesting although quite expensive offer for new MS-Optical Sonnetar 25mm f/1.1 lenses fits Pentax Q mount camera :

*New* MS-Optical Sonnetar 25mm f/1.1 Pentax q mount 25 F/1.1 | eBay

First selling price : USD 650,00

An amazing albeit interesting new possibility for Q-shooters, but is it quality-worth the price ?

An also questionning cooperation of an independent optician with Pentax ?

Not cheap indeed. But it may be a good option for ultra portable portrait kit. Not to mention that the lelctronics shutter will probably allow for very fast X-sync speeds.

Same guy that had made the Super Triplet Perar:

MS Optical Super Triplet Perar 4/28 | japan exposures

It had some interesting reviews.

you are talking about a hand assembled, one man team here. the man, Mr Miyazaki, is an incredible craftsman, and every lens he creates has been met with nothing but praise. his triplet lenses for leica M are incredibly highly regarded. I would say that the lens, in terms of optical performance is likely, easily worth the asking price, and you probably won't see another lens that fast for the Qmount. maybe ever. is it worth the cost for a camera that can only deliver iQ to a certain level, regardless of lens? well I guess thats up to the Q owner, but what I can say with absolute certainty is that the lens itself, is likely, nothing short of brilliant, and performs on a level worth every penny. I don't think there is anyone else on the planet currently doing what he is doing. id love to be able to afford one of his works. he does brilliant work at converting lenses. I've seen him convert non interchangeable lenses from fixed lens cameras into interchangeable lenses for Leica M. even SLR lenses completely converted to Leica M.

better not think too long as i bought #2 only 1 left now

as always i bet Canadian customs will hold it for an extra week or two

An article about the maker, good read.

If i can mount a lens without any adapter that would be my priority preference.

Thanks for the heads up Zygonyx

I wonder if another forum member will snap up the last one? I believe these are the only 3 for sale right now?

Probably worth it for those who have use for it, but I find the focal length to be far to long on a Q. Had this been a 6mm lens, I would bought it instantly.

Yes, with wide aperture 6mm lens the Q would be instantly very desirable...

Very cool, no doubt about it. But I'm not rushing in. If it's a good lens, more will be made.

Mr. Miyazaki isn't a cave-dwelling hermit. He will be perfectly happy earning a yen or millionS more by making more lenses. I'm looking forward to some user feedback.

It could make a very good portrait lens. 135mm/F6 manual. But it fits in your pocket!

mine shipped at 5:16am EST, i've been checking it every 5 minutes lol

this would be perfect for street shooting (people) vs a comparable DSLR's 135 lens; the size difference body plus lens, david vs Goliath.

The Third

I have laid claim to the third lens as well as a $499 Q off ebay. I needed a splurge after working 100 hours in each of past two weeks.
