Here are 3 more from Q equipped with Sonnetar

In case if any Pentax engineer is surfing this page, a focus peaking function is really needed for Q to help make life easier :ugh:

For anyone having equipped the Sonnetar with Q, have you noticed whether the built-in SR (shake reduction) function works or not? If not, can anyone explain why despite the fact that it is a built-in function? Af far as I've noticed, only Pentax & Olympus put this function in their mirrorless camera bodies not the lens.

I can only go by what Pentax advertises, "The PENTAX Q incorporates the PENTAX-developed SR (Shake Reduction) mechanism, which automatically shifts the CMOS image sensor to offset camera shake detected by the camera’s motion sensor. As a result, the PENTAX Q produces sharp, blur-free images even under demanding conditions that are prone to camera shake, such as when using a telephoto lens, shooting in the dark without flash illumination, or capturing landscapes in the twilight. Therefore, whatever lens mounted on the PENTAX Q, it does not need to be stabilized, which is a subsequent financial advantage for the user."

So i'm saying yes.

At the moment the only chance the Sonnetar has to work with Pentax SR is if it has electrical connections on the lens mount. Q needs to know the lens focal length to move the sensor the correct amount. The Pentax DSLRs work the same way. They allow manual entry of focal length when no info is reported by the lens. It is hoped that a firmware update will allow the Q to do the same.

thanks

Olympus Pen can also correct the sensor shaking when equipped with other MF lenses by inputting the info on lens focal length. Hope Pentax engineers are seriously listening to their users

I would urge Pentax to develop focus-peaking for the Q, as this would help so much in this matter...

Has Pentax released a fix to use SR with legacy lenses? If so, I can't figure out how to make it work

I'm almost certain that the next Q body will indeed include focus-peaking. Pentax clearly has a policy of spreading its technologies as widely as possible through out its product range.

Ah, makes sense now

I'm on the fence. For the price (in the USA, at least), you can get a handful of adapted and very nice legacy glass.

I suppose I best make up my mind quickly.
