New Sensors: 12mp 1/1.7" backlit Sony IMX144CQJ w/4K video - 1001 Noisy Cameras

I don't see much point (yet) in enabling the 4K video, but high frame-rate 1080P would be nice.

I would have to imagine that 1/1.7" would be fine for the imaging circle and also leave space for SR...

Wouldn't that be something if it was the sensor for the next version of the Q! But are the current Q's lenses wide enough to cover a 1/1.7 sensor? I can't see Pentax having to create a new line of Q lenses. But if they are wide enough, bring it on!

I doubt Pentax would have walled themselves in to 1/2.3" maximum.

I should add that I've just looked at the Q Prime and Zoom test results on Photozone, and judging by the low vignetting figures and the very high extreme border resolution figures, they would seem to indicate that the imaging circle has been designed to accommodate a larger sensor than the 1/2.3".
