pentax q movie date bug - welcome to 1970?

Either my q has a bug or I have failed to notice an arcane setting field.

A third alternative is that Pentax has built the world's smallest time machine.

My movies are dated to 1970-01-01, my stills to today.

Advice sought.

Is the erroneous date shown just on your computer or in-camera? That date happens to correspond to a unix timestamp of 0, suggesting that somewhere along the way, the video's date metadata was stripped.

Good question, Adam.
On the q the movie date and time is indeed stamped correctly.
On its way into Lightroom it gets rewound all the way back to Unix 0.
At least we've identified the problem.
Now for the solution...
