Hi i83N,

It won't be quite the same. The major advantages (at least for me) to long macros are the working distance and greater ease of using on-camera flash because of this extra distance from the lens.

The A* 200 f4 Macro has a MFD of 0.55m (@21.5") and the DA35 f2.8 Macro Ltd's is 0.14m (@ 5.5"). Even though the max magnification will be the same for both lenses at MFD (@ 5.5:1 relative to the image frame compared to 135mm format or @ 3.7:1 compared to APS-C), the working distance will be significantly different. I don't know how to calculate magnification at different distances, but even backing off to 1:1 on the, I doubt that the 35mm on the Q will give you anywhere near the working distance that the 200mm would at 1:1 on a 135mm body. I'm guessing that the working distance at 1:1 will be more like 9-11" That being said, The Q with the 35 would be a whole lot easier handhold. . .200mm macros are extremely large and heavy.

Of course, as a tele lens on the Q, the FL EQ would be like shooting a 193 mm on a FF or 130mm on an APS-C.
