Anyone ever mounted a K-mount super-telephoto on a Q?

Just wondering about this... I don't have a Q yet, but I'm intrigued by the long reach it would provide with a K-mount long tele. I'm wondering what would happen if someone mounted say, a 500mm lens on it... ;-)

Anyone done this?

There are multiple threads about this. The crop factor is something like 5.5X magnification and you can get ridiculously close.

someone should send to Clinton a Q to mount it on it's 1200mm f8 ! what do you think about a 6600mm (that will give some awefull result due to diffraction, but who cares ?!)

Adding the adapter to the cost of a new Q is a little pricey for me as I'm not sure if I would end up using it much. I'd like to try it someday though. Throwing on a 2x on the 1200, then attaching the Q would = 13,200mm.

13,200mm.
but it would give a f16 aperture, and the Q sensor don't like small aperture

Anyway ! i can't wait to see the result, if one day you try !

Wow, I thought the Jupiter claim was an exaggeration, but it isn't!

800mm * 5.5 = 4,400mm equivalent. Enough to bring home Jupiter and its moons.

in fact he says M 800mm f6.7 + 2x TC + Q sooooo it's more like a 1600*5.5 = 8800
