Hopefully, this Q will not be one disappointment.
I have been searching for a compact cam for quite some time and finally, after much pondering, I decided to give this Q a go.
Only thing is that I still would like a VF.
There seem to be quite a few out there but what would work with both the prime (01) and the zoom lenses?

Anyway, it should be here in a few days ... already shipped from Toronto.

Cheers.

JP

I keep finding myself interested in the Q.....although I am a rabid fan of my little X10, and love the OVF in the bright Texas sun. However, just being honest in my usage, I would say that 98% of my shots are with the LCD and not the OVF. Those 2% might make a difference if you shoot a lot of landscapes, or maybe not, but after a year of using the X10, I think the lack of an OVF on the Q is no longer a reason for me not to have one.
Not saying I will...but I sure might! It's a neat looking little camera, and from what I see in samples, quite capable.

Regards!
I don't know: this seems to be a "me-only" thing about wanting a viewfinder for that Q I have just ordered.

Well, time will tell how I do with focusing this litlle camera at arms length!

I will also have to swallow my own words when I say: "look at this guy/gal focusing this camera like that !"

The OVF on the X10 is very good, and easy enough to use in most any conditions, but only necessary in the bright sunshine...and I seldom use the X10 in the bright sunshine.

Here is a case where the OVF came in very handy, the LCD was worthless with the bright sunshine at my back.

BTW- My Bigma would be great for Squirrel shooting on the Q!

Regards!

Nice image Rupert. Yes, your bigma would be nice for the squirrels. What is taking you so long to get a Q?
thanks

The Q is a lot of fun. Turning my 85/1.4 into a 467.5 equivalent lens is a real hoot! I havent had a clear day to try my K300/4 on it yet 1650mm equivalent - Wow!

You seem to be enjoying this Q, I gather ?

And speaking of a 85/1.4 lens ... this will be an interesting camera to try my Zeiss 85/1.4 on. (When I get an adapter, that is).

I have been having some "focus shift" issue with this lens wide open (a well known "problem") and apparently there are ways around that. Hopefully, the Q will help. We shall see.

Cheers.

Yes, I've played with it more in unusual ways than either my K-x or K-5. I was working on some wiring under the desk with a headlamp on last evening and realized that it is one with a red option. Interesting pics with the Q in the dark with a red headlamp as the sole source of illumination.

Just buy an OVF and stick it on top. Shoot like a rangefinder
