Originally posted by wizofoz I have both the Metz 58-1 and the Pentax 540. I can get the Metz to fire at 1/2000 from the Q. I set the metz to 'slave' mode and then 'servo'.
I can get the flash to fire at every setting from full power down to 1/256 power.
This could be quite handy, but the flash is bigger than the camera!
Just tried it too, with my Metz 58 AF-2 and Yongnuo YN560 last night. Performance is similar, works in servo mode but not in the regular slave. Syncs with the built-in flash as the trigger and the Metz ignores any preflash. 1/2000s wireless is awesome, though the most I'll probably do with it is around 1/500~1000.
Tried it with the YN RF-602 trigger. It seems the trigger (or the camera) limits anything it doesn't detect as P-TTL in the hotshoe to 1/250s. Wish I had a Cactus V5
