Checking sharpness on rear LCD question

This might be one of them dumb questions, but it's not the first (nor last) I've asked.

On my K7/5 I'd jump to 11X mag on the rear lcd to get to 100% view(1:1) for checking post capture focus/sharpness of the image. I read somewhere that was what to use. Looking for the answer for the Q, I read it 8X seems more correct for the K7/5, but I never found an answer (or even talked about) for the Q.

Does anyone know what ?X to get a 100% view on the Q's LCD? What do you use?

Is it as simple as (12.4m/450k)/3=9.1, closest on Q would be 9.5X

Thanks

No idea what to use for 100% on the Q. I usually review at 4X or the next step. The review jpeg is probably smaller than on the K cams to allow faster lcd viewing. Q has much less buffer memory/processing power.

Also remember the Q lcd screen has less rez that K cam.

Interesting, so we don't the size of the file, nor how it's being processed from raw to jpg for review. I never really considered that we weren't seeing the actual image as it was captured.

All digital cameras show a small jpeg thumbnail on the lcd. There is no point in using a 12mp file on a 3" lcd. The only time this is a disadvantage is when magnifying the pic on the lcd. Mag too much and the small file will look soft. The full size size file can look sharp on a computer monitor or when printed( as long as the shot actually is sharp and in focus).

If you shoot Raw the lcd still shows a small jpeg. The histogram also shows jpeg info. Raw shots can be pushed harder to the left of the histogram.
