I'm explicitly saying that 1 card will fail, so is it not correct that the more cards you've the higher the chance is one will fail?
Haha, now the thread is about math .
@Anvh: having 2 cards generally mean you have [10% chance of fail card] + [10% chance of fail card]. The only thing you can deduce from here is the chance that both cards will fail at the same time is 0.1x0.1 = 0.01 = 1%. You cannot come to conclusion that the chance of your bunch of cards will fail is 20%. If so, you can carry 10 cards and there is 100% that one of them will fail

Peace out ^^
Anyway thanks for your suggestions guys, i've decided that i will go with class 10 transcend SD as they also provide web-checking for serial number, which hopefully decrease the chance of a fake card

Even if you buy a crad faster than the camera there can still be a benefit. With a card reader the files will still load into your cmputer faster. This matters when filling up 16 & 32gb cards.

Also a new camera ( say Q10) might make use of a faster card. It sure has faster electronics doing 33 jpegs without slowing down vs 5-6 with the Q.

I have also had two or three SD cards give out. It has always been the body not the electronics.
thanks

I'm talking about that 1 card will fail not both
You don't use two cards at the same time, the K5 only has 1 card slot.

Yeah, keep that one in my pocket all the time to protect the one in the camera, they both can't fail at the same time, right?

The risk of one failing is still the same but the risk of both failing is quite small.

So you agree with me that "by owning 2 cards with 10% fail chance you cannot come to conclusion that your chance of having a fail card is 20%" or you still think that your original argument is right?

Today i went to a local shop, bought a 32GB Class 10 Transcend SD card and check the serial number there, which showed "Verified" status. Then I went home, put the SD card in my laptop card reader slot, use CrystalDiskMark to test the sequential read/write speed. The result: Read: 18.26MB/s, Write: 16.11MB/s. So the card is an authentic one, right?
PS: oh and btw, When I use the Q in RAW or RAW+ mode, the picture is recorded significantly faster than my previous 8GB Class 4 Sony SD card.
