Lessons learned

I tried my luck to today with K mount lenses and it was not good. I couldn't see the LCD out in the sun, partly because I hadn't set it to it's brightest, and I use photo-gray glasses and they were dark, also I left my LCD hood loop home. All my fault, LCD is now set. I started with my Super Tak 200 and that is tough to hand hold. I think I will get used to things with my 135 (EFL 750) first then move up. Bracing the hood to my face also helps steady things and it's easier to follow subjects. I also found that if I leave SR running it is easier to hold on to a subject. So far no keepers.

It does take practice to get results from the Q with long lenses. The SR helps a lot. Before SR, I could get a decent percentage of keepers at 135mm or less. 200 was almost impossible, unless in bright sun. With SR I got some keepers using the 55-300 zoom at 300 ( thanks for the push snostorm) the first time out.

Longest I've attempted hand held is the 100mm macro but that was pre firmware 1.10.
Bright sunny day and fast shutter speed helped.
