I am looking at buying a Pentax Q10 and noticed you can get it with the zoom lens pretty cheap some places. I would really like to have it with this lens and it seems much cheaper to buy the camera with this lens packaged already rather than buying the zoom lens separately. I would also like to have the Prime 01 lens as well.

I am wondering though... the Q10 doesn't appear to have a kit where you can get the prime lens. Does anybody know if Pentax has mentioned selling the 01 prime lens alone in the future? It just doesn't seem to make much sense for late adopters buying into the Q line to not be able to purchase the 01 prime lens without buying it in a kit with the original Q.

I ran into this same quandary a few days ago - so I bought another Q.

In doing so, I also got another battery and charger in the process.

Yeah... I was hoping I wouldn't have to end up doing that. I don't NEED a Q but I have always thought it is a really neat little camera so I don't want to invest too much into it right now. I just purchased a K-01 and am really enjoying it. It is my first experience using the live view to compose images and since I like it so far it has pushed my interest in the Q that much further.

I guess at least you have two bodies now in case one of them bites the dust! :-)

Pentax really needs to release the 01 Standard Prime as a stand-alone item. Seriously.

We should start a petition for it. I'm assuming they plan to release it though considering they had the pentax q lens roadmap with it on there. I would think they would only include it on the lens map if it is inteded as a stand alone purchase? They had it on there along with some other lenses that have yet to come like the macro lens. If they release a macro lens for the Q I'm definitely purchasing a Q or Q10.

No need to wait for that macro, the existing k-mount macros on the q with the adapter are fantabulous.

I thought about it. The only color I could get with the prime, was the white one. I hardly ever sell anything with "Pentax" on it, so it would be unlikely I will sell it.

Moving forward, I think the Q has become my new "Optio". I used to buy a new Optio WR every other generation. Now, I will be putting a new "Q" into my kit from now on.

If I am ever able to get the Q in Kawasaki green - well - that would put me over the moon!!!!

LOL. No, but there are definitely some "Japanese" green shades in there.
Which are very very nice!

Well, there are some companies that will (for a fee of course) purchase and ship items from Japan to you. Then you'd have 3 Q's

I would love a green Pentax Q also! That would be awesome... I currently have a green Pentax K-X and now my recently acquired white K-01. If they had offered the K-01 in green I would have bought that in a heartbeat.... kind of sad that a simple color can have such an effect on my purchasing decisions. ha ha ha.

PS: Just checked the site again, 20 quids for each of the toy lens sound good....tsk tsk
