Thanks Yeah Ive been wanting to try out the interval movie and thought to myself decorating the tree summed up in 45 seconds instead of boring video. I also had fun as I did some stop motion coffee drinking to make the kids look more frantic if thats possible

I was going to ask if that was you, hard at work supervising the activity! Fun time lapse, good choice of music.

I just tried out the interval movie as well. The files saved to the AVI are huge for the amount of frames taken!
They are rendered by the camera as a 30fps AVI with only 6 frames changing each second. Once I re-encoded the video at 6fps, I lost none of the "action" and removed 80% of the file size!

BTW, I'm loving the expanded video editing capabilities in Photoshop CS6.

With my K-30, I find that the camera duplicates each picture 3 times, thus reducing the effective frame rate (from 15 fps) to 5 fps. This also explains the huge size of the AVI file. Why does Pentax do this? It just results in jerkier movies, or requires you to postprocess the movies to remove the extra frames. With modest compression the file size went from 266 MB to 6 MB.

And I was going to ask how many cups of tea you drank during the video
A great video by the way -- what interval did you use ?

lol, that's fun, thanks for sharing. I was going to say that Dad's involvement in decorating was refilling his coffee mug, but I was beat to it.
