Fish eye and Q

I recently purchased a used Q with the 01 prime. All works fine.

However, when I mount the Fish Eye lens, the LCD continues to show AV regardless of what mode I set on the dial. Is this what should be reflected because the fish eye has a fixed aperture? (I tried another fisheye lens and got the same results so I know its not the lens) Is my Q busted?

I don't have the fish eye but I believe it's normal for that lens. The same things happens when I mount an adapted lens with no aperture connection to the camera.

The Fish-Eye is a Fixed Aperture lens, you can not set the Aperture its permanently f5.6.

My 03 Fisheye just came in, I am going to enjoy this little lens.
I just took a quick moment to compare it with my 10-17 before having to get back to work.
Can you tell which is which?

They're pretty close, but I'm gonna guess that #2 is the 10-17mm.

I'm gonna guess the same. . .

IQ is remarkably similar though. ..

#2 seems sharper (if ever so slightly), so I'll go with that too.

I'm about to grab the fisheye for my Q too!

It's not any sharpness that makes me think #2 is the 10-17, rather the chromatic aberration seen all over the place. Who knows? Maybe the 03 has bad CA and I never see it...

Strangely, I haven't been moved to get out my fisheyes and check. More fun to sit and watch and guess!

Yes you guys are right, the first set are the Q 03 FE. I was pleasantly surprised at how close they look.
The 10-17 goes a little wider, this shot is at near the 12mm position.
For the small size the Q guys did a great job on the 03.

Nice comparison.

I always grab the DA 10-17 and throw it in the bag with my DSLR kit, but for some reason, I feel compelled to use the 03 on the Q a much higher percentage of the time.

Including the 03 in the Q system as a very inexpensive FE for the Q was one of the best things they've done, IMO

I've found Focus Peaking via FW 1.10 takes most of the guess work out of using the 03. Plus, it can take a pretty severe crop really well. Makes the 03 a no-brainer addition to one's kit IMHO.

+1 to that...

I had to get the 03 fisheye at the same time I bought my (first) Q kit. The 01 prime is stellar, but I am a complete fish-fanatic!
Let me check which other mirrorless systems have an OEM fisheye lens... (hint: Panasonic 8mm for m4/3)

Indeed the 10-17 is sharper but not that much.
Thanks for the comparison!
