Interesting... although they do resemble 100% crops from a DSLR. I think for Q owners the ability to mount telephoto lenses is a bonus, but for existing DSLR users looking to extend their reach, I am skeptical that the Q offers much benefit, unless they plan on using absolutely razor-sharp lenses.

Many DSLR's offer better quality photos but honestly, I'm not a photographer for national geographic nor pretending to be one. I like keeping a small travel camera for every day photography. Mounting telephoto lens, as you said, is a bonus that I've been experimenting with.

P.S.: The quality suffers quite a bit through the site which I uploaded. They look better on my home computer than online. Can any recommend me a good photo upload website? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum MerinatedHerring. You have already found one of the fun aspects of the Q- super telephoto reach. It allows observation and photography of wildlife from great distances. You have made a great start using lenses already owned.

Even if the images are close to the quality of cropped a dslr, the Q combo is smaller and more portable. After more shooting time, you may find the Q and 200 does a better job than a cropped dslr. If not, there are some good choices that are not terrbly expensive. Snostorm has had very good luck with the Pentax DA55-300. The DAL version can be found for even less. Like many hobbies, you have to decide how far to go.

Keep shooting and posting
thanks

The Q is fun.

I've been browsing these forums for a while and found them pretty helpful. I'd like to give a little back and show a few photos I took with the Q and an F-mount adapter I got off amazon.com
Nice work. I like #2 best.
