Your Music Concert/Gigs photos taken with the Q

I've just tested my Q for the first time @ a recent music concert and was surprised by the quality of the shots in low light , no flash and with the Prime 01 lens.
i was worried with the lack of zoom, I would get poor grainy shots but I was happy with the results I got.

Pics attached, please share your Music concert shots too

A short movie in brutal lighting and the built in mic, I think it's great!

My wife took these with the Q & the 02 zoom at the Richard Thompson concert in Iowa City on June 7th. (It was a spectacular performance, by the way.)

All taken at ISO 1600.

While it's not quite up to DSLR standards for stills, I wouldn't hesitate to shoot a concert with the Q. It did much better than I expected. The Q is just a fantastic little marvel of a camera, IMO.

Oh, and if you ever get the chance to see Richard Thompson in person, GO! He's fantastic.

I haven't been able to seriously clip the audio in the Q when shooting concerts of similar. It actually sounds better than many of the dedicated portable audio recorders!

Yeah, I was quite surprised. Audio wasn't that far off from what my Zoom handheld audio recorder can do.

I made the mistake of letting YouTube stabilize the video, which made it look watery & weird. So, I deleted the video & am re-uploading it now in it's original form. :-)

I've taken the Q into a couple concerts now and am quite pleased security does not take this camera seriously

These were taken at an outdoor concert, so of course the lighting was better than indoor:

Exposure 0.004 sec (1/250)
Aperture f/2.8
Focal Length 40.9 mm
ISO Speed 250
Exposure Bias -0.7 EV

Exposure 0.002 sec (1/500)
Aperture f/5.6
Focal Length 3.2 mm
ISO Speed 125
Exposure Bias -1 EV

And these we're taken in a much tougher environment, but still, the camera did very well!

Exposure 0.025 sec (1/40)
Aperture f/2.8
Focal Length 44.1 mm
ISO Speed 1250
Exposure Bias 0 EV

Exposure 0.025 sec (1/40)
Aperture f/2.8
Focal Length 33.8 mm
ISO Speed 1250
Exposure Bias 0 EV

Exposure 0.1 sec (1/10)
Aperture f/2.8
Focal Length 15 mm
ISO Speed 1250
Exposure Bias 0 EV

You have entered the Q dimension

Hey spikebebop, I didn't know that the Q was able to go back in time and capture images from decades ago!! Great shots- first time I'm seeing them. Amazing the things that the Q can do.

I tried it to see if there was any real possibility in super low-light situations, and found the results wanting. It does give you the '60s look if you want it. In this instance, because it is Robert "Bilbo" Walker - who was a '60s blues man - it kind of works:
Attachment 176572

I would be much more likely to stick with the K-01, and use a VF loupe for a much higher image quality in the 800-3200 ISO range. I find the Q not really usable past 1250 ISO - and that's only in relatively good light.

On the other hand, I do feel that you can use the Q pretty effectively in low light video (again, not as good as the K-01, but much closer in quality). With a monopod, you could do decent at a relatively high magnification and not appear too distracting in the crowd. Of course, not a lot of artists allow it - but quite often bar bands are OK with it.

Yup, that's the place. Right by the river... we had a nice sunset that night too. Here's a view from the right side of the ampitheater:

With the 01 Prime, yes I was close
Abit blurry, I was drinking and in the mosh pit!
The 06 Zoom would be perfect in my opinon or perhaps a FA31 and adapter.

I think the new Q with the larger sensor may become a game changer in this area.

The Q works well in Concerts.. It's so much better than most P&S cameras..
And thanks for sharing on the Q's Video, it sounds and look great. Have not tried video with the Q. I love the K01 for video as their in built mic works great.
Now would like to see how well the Q7 will be.. is the Q7 stereo or mono mic. hmm..

I have share this photos before....... Just sharing here again.

JOURNEY Live in Singapore! on 19 March 2013.

Some shots with the Q with 01 lens. ISO 1250

And also with 3rd party Adapter with Fa77mm. Damn.. It is so hard to focus due to the lighting and also maybe their movement..
All below with ISO800
