Like NotSteve I ordered my tripod foot through Rakuten March 8th, it was shipped March 12th and arrived March 18th in Victoria, Canada. $43.75 all in. Meanwhile Pentax Canada has yet to even reply to the "order request" email I provided to them on their insistence at the end of February.

Folks,

I have finally received the famous Pentax foot from Pentax Canada today.
I took a long while (3 weeks) but it is here now.

For Canadians looking into buying one, please contact Pentax Canada -- Parts Dept and place an order.
It is $46.00 plus shipping (add $10.00).
Mine was delivered Express Post and very nicely packaged.

JP

@ hornet: sorry, I didn't pay attention to your post before mine was posted.
You actually had a better and faster deal with Rakunen.
Spread the word!

See my post just below yours ... you better call because they are indeed not quite good at answering emails.

I just received my tripod foot ordered with the above link from www.rakuten.co.jp.

It took less than 2 weeks from order to delivery in the US from Japan. Total was 4,610 yen ($50.05) including shipping and fees. Foot was listed at 2,962 yen ($32.13).

Original Pentax Retail packaging. Item 38100, Tripod Foot for DA*300mm. Bar Code: T4549212218385.

My Pentax K to Q adapter will arrive next week.
Took your advice and bought one of these too from that store. It was a bit tense as most of the communications came by email in Japonese (which I don't speak) but...they figured it out and sent it. It took 3 days to ship from Japan to the USA. Awesome. Paid the same price as above.

Does this tripod foot also fit the 60-250 lens or only the 300 and the Pentax Q adapter?

I do not know if it fits the 60-250. AFAIK it's only the 300. Anyone else have an idea about that?

The OEM foot spec'd for the Pentax adapter is the shorter one for the DA *300.

The DA*60-250 uses a longer foot so is a different part number.

The third party foot being developed by Fanotec should be dual purpose. See the other thread for info.

I've opted to go for a third party foot for the canon 100/2.8 macro, which is about 1-2 mm bigger in internal diameter that the oD of the adaptor. My reason for this is two fold, first, I will be using it with a variety of lenses, I assume the Pentax adaptors are to put the balance point at the tripod screw for the particular lens. I will resolve this with an additional tripod plate that I already have, so I can set the lens up correctly on my gimbal.

The second reason is that I like the ability of being able to rotate the lens 90 degrees.

I will line the oversized mount with leather to grip the lens. I have tried this with my sigma APO 70-200 mount, but I want that back on the 70-200
