Oh, how much did it cost you? I want something similar for my Q and as a tiny macro (the flange focal distance) for the K-5.
$30 for the lens & $10 for the Kiwi M39 adapter. Both with free shipping.

Thank you! I find that M39 lenses usually goes for way too much money but I guess you can find cheap ones too.

Industar 61 L/D f:2.8 / 55mm (308mm equiv. on the Q)

Took my newly acquired M39 Industar 61 out for a few test shots. Here they are.

INFO:

Kiwi M39 adapter
All shots are jpegs straight from camera, no sharpening, resized to 1800x1350 with Irfanview to speed up loading
All shots handheld with SR on, proper focal length entered

100% crop of the above:

Bokeh shots:

To give you an idea of it's size, here's what it looks like on the Q: (Camera is cockeyed because of the tripod screw holding my viewfinder loupe frame on.)

I shot handheld, because that's mostly how I plan on using it.

Build quality: Typical Russian construction. Not graceful, but built to last and everything works as it should. Focusing is easy and relatively smooth.

Verdict: Virtually devoid of CA even wide open, the Industar 61 L/D works exceptionally well as a 308mm equivalent tele on the Q. Wide open, it's soft to the point of being unusable, but stop it down to f:5.6 or better yet, the sweet spot of f:8, and it provides excellent image quality. With the Kiwi M39 adapter attached, it's roughly the same size as the 02 zoom, and works pretty slick.

So there ya go.

Cheers,
Bob :-)

I need to dig around in my camera equipment and find some FSU rangefinders in there. I'm sure I have at least three.

DA* 60-250mm F4

My Fotodiox PK(AF)-P/Q adapter arrived today,

First pic with standard 8.5mm lens. See the electricity pole to the left of the palm?

Second with adapter and my DA* 60-250mm at 250mm. Manual focus and aperture (no idea of setting) letting the camera do the exposure, ISO 400 and 125th sec. Without a view finder, focussing was difficult using the rear screen.

Wow! Awesome results! If I didn't already have a Pentax 35-105, I'd hunt down a copy of that one for sure! :-)

Hi,

Closest focus distance about 20ft, dark and very, very cheap.

@5,5

@6,3

@8

100% Crop of above

I have adjusted my Q's sharpness so artifacts is little too clearly visible.

Tamron XR 28-200mm f3.8-5.6

First, my disclaimer.
The tech side of photography is not my forte.

This lens is not the DI version.
Fotodiox adapter, black felt inside.

All shots at f/6.7, tripod mounted, using the 2 sec. timer.
jpeg from camera, no post work.

@70mm, 320 ISO (ignore the black lantern to the left)
the tree is about 100' away.

@135mm, 320 ISO

@200mm, 320 ISO

crop of above.

@135mm, 320 ISO.

@200mm, 320 ISO. (note: small branches between camera and subject in above and below photos)

looking for PF
random shot, hand held, 640 ISO

PF does show up with very bright back-lighting, but I didn't see much otherwise.

I was very pleased with the results, and plan to test this lens more at 135mm, against my M135/3.5.
The little M is a favorite so far.
Some Tamron lenses seem to have not tested well, but I also like the results from my Promaster (Tamron) 28-105mm f/4-5.6.

That a superzoom performs that well on the Q surprises me! I have the Tamron XR DI 18-200 & haven't bothered to test it on the Q. I just figured the results would be garbage, though it does perform surprisingly well on my DSLRs. Guess I'll have to give it a go on the Q. An equivalent 100-1120mm zoom sounds mighty enticing! :-)

I was equally surprised how well the Cosina/Phoenix superzoom worked as well.

Charles.
