Pentax M 200mm f4

3 pictures attached.

#1: Setup of Q + Fotodiox Q-K adapter + Pentax M 200mm f4

#2: Picture of container tanks on deck of boat across river (wide open)

#3: Attached a 2x Vivitar Teleconverter, took a picture of eagles on top of the radio tower far in the background (wide open)

Some post-processing was involved.

EDIT: Argh I didn't realize this lens was already added (I checked it a while back, but guess I missed it). Oh well, I'll leave this up here anyways.

Argus C3 100mm lens

I made an adapter for the Argus mount using the rear cap drilled out and glued to several c mount extension tubes then a C to Q adapter. This is the 100mm f 4.5 lens. I added extension tubes until I got it to focus, got it close to the correct standoff then glued the mess together. It will focus beyond infinity but still will close focus so it's close. The setup works well but not as sharp as my SMC M 135 f3.5 and the 50 is not as sharp as my SMC A 50 but it was fun. It is a small lens max aperture of f4.5 when stopped down to f5.6 it's not bad. It makes a small 560mm equiv. package on my Q

Shot with the Argus 100mm lens at about f5.6

Pentax 110 70mm f2.8 lens with Ext. tubes on Q.

It has taken me a while to work out a way to get some macro extension on my 70mm 110 lens. The lens alone can only focus as close as about 1.2 metres away.
So I bought some Q extension tubes but the shortest one is 10mm and has a too dramatic effect with the camera only able to focus up to about 400mm away.
So I took the metal ends off the longest tube and glued them up to a 40.5 filter ring (glass removed) and this made a nice little 6mm ext tube.
This gave the 70mm an operating range of approx 400 to 700 mm.
I would have to say that even with this mod it is quite a difficult macro lens and is best left for portraiture stuff.
The first 3 images are at f2.8 (wide open) the last 2 with a ringbinder ring stopping it down a little. Apart from the obvious gain of a little more DoF I don't think the 70 responds greatly to being stopped down.
The last image of the red manuka is with the 10mm ext tube. The flower is 12-15mm across.

Cine-S.ARCO 13mm f/1.4 D mount

A tiny little lens, beautiful mechanics. Some barrel distortion, not sharp all over. (Designed for double 8, so it never intended to cover something as big as the Q sensor.)

These are all hand held in terrible light on the original Q. First, the obligatory brick wall.

With crops. I just realized these are from 5 MP jpegs, not the full resolution. Sorry.

And then something that looks a bit more like a proper image, to show bokeh.

SMC Pentax-F 35-70mm f/3.5-4.5 showing the CINE-S.ARCO 13mm f/1.4

CINE-S.ARCO 13mm f/1.4 on Pentax Q

This was shot with the SMC Pentax-F 35-70mm f/3.5-4.5 on another Q (70mm f/8, probably using the macro mode). It was intended as an experiment with flash with adapted lenses (without shutter). (Result: Impossible to trigger from the camera, works fine if you time it right manually.) But it also works fine to show you what the lens from the previous post looks like on the camera.

When I say I shot it at f/8, I mean the aperture ring was at f/5.6, which is f/8 at 70mm.

I have cine-arco lens (6.5, 13, and 38mm I believe). They are decent lens stopping-down but weird bokeh. Cine arco lens come with different color, mine are black and yours is white

It is important to see multiple instances of the same lens as some may use diferent testing methods or adapters for the setup. All examples are welcome, even duplicates.

Promise to update the index this week, thanks all for your contributions.

I have the same set (silver, not white). Haven't tested the other ones yet. Well, I mounted them and had a look. The 6.5mm doesn't even illuminate the whole sensor except wide open. But they look good:

Sorry about the non-Q shots.

May I suggest that when doing a duplicate review, copy the caption of the original lens exactly and add something like a (2) to the end so it sits beside the original in the index.
Update looks great crew1

Sometimes I end up having to strip out odd characters in the names to make sure the program renders the table correctly but any help is appreciated.
Hans went through and tried to make the format of the names to be more orderly a while back, like making all Pentax lenses start with Pentax and the appropriate designation SMC DA etc but it has not been cleaned up in a while.
Looking for another volunteer to help maintain this effort, as an errant bus while I'm crossing the street could put an end to it all
Send me a PM if interested.
