I really like this thread. I own a Q-S1 and I will have to play around a bit with some lenses. So far I only made a quick try with the Pentax FA 80-320, but with a cheap adapter without tripod thread, which forced me to use the tripod thread of the camera. Not a very stable setup. And I found it very difficult to manually focus the moon. I'll have to try again with a new adapter and read through this thread for more ideas.

Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 6x7 600mm F4 adapted to QS1

Well slightly over the top, however I had all the adapters ( Pentax Brand ) so I thought I may as well try

I used the 67 K mount adapter as well as the K-Q adapter on the QS1

I was impressed with the resolution of the spider web from over 120 metres away, apologies for the lack of artistic merit, however I will be aiming for some far away birds on their favourite perch in the future

That's a rather good result, although I wonder how much more noticeable the longitudinal CA would be with a higher-contrast subject. But looks good here, and quite sharp. What f-stop did you use?

Wide open it was visible at f4 so I stopped down to f16, even down at f45 the ability of the Q to adjust to the darkness meant that it was easy to focus.

Looks good! Is that through a glass window on the door?

Yes from the warmth of inside, safe away from garden spiders

I'm glad that garden spiders couldn't attack you , but I wonder if the lens performs even better w/o the window!

I had forgotten this thread! Since I last posted here (forever ago) I have acquired a C mount Pentax 25/1.4 CCTV lens, which I don't think appears in the database.

I confess I rarely use my Q7 these days, but I'll try to get some sample photos in the near future....

Wollensak-Revere Cine Raptar 13mm F2.5 D-mount

This is a fixed focus D-mount lens that I used on my Q10 with a cheap Chinese adapter. I needed to add a 0.003" shim in order to obtain infinity focus, as the default setup placed the focus point past infinity. Overall the lens surprised me with reasonably good sharpness and detail in the center. The corners are somewhat soft on the Q10 but stopping down the lens does help. The sweet spot appears to be between F5.6 and F8, after which diffraction limits the resolution. The attached image was shot at F8 but you can see the soft corners in the tree branches. The lens does sufferer from some loss of contrast and flare but the front glass is well recessed, which helps. I did not notice too much vignetting on the Q10.
