Wollensak Raptar 13mm f/1.2 C-mount. Len is solid, heavy, big, and buttery sharp wide open at f/1.2. Highly recommend as a portrait len for pentax Q.

Sample picture on pentax Q at f/1.2

Pentax-M 50mm /1.4 on the Q (2)

I am doing the 50mm 1.4 because the existing review has had its images removed.
I kept the lens stopped down to f2 - f2.8 except the bluebell which I think was wide open.
I didn't have much luck with landscape images -- maybe someone else could show its potential there.
There seemed to be quite a lot of purple and green fringing.
I think the 50mm 1.7 had more potential but still I feel this was a nice creative lens.

Rendition you are the king of modding lenses for the Q. You should do an article all about this!

(Promising to update the index this week.)

Pentax-A 50mm / 1.7 on the Q (2)

The images have been removed on the first review of this lens so I thought I would put one in.
I was amazed at how much difference there was between wide open (f1.7) and one click in (f2) That would be less than half a stop wouldn't it?
The images in order of upload -- f1.7, f2, and the rest f5.6 or 8.
The iris has a noticeably serrated outline at f2 and I suspect it gives it a sweet spot for bokeh compared to the poached egg look of wide open.

May I challenge some of you fanatic lens testers and adventurers to make more pinhole lenses? When I get less busy in December, I will try to make a wide angle pinhole (with hole recessed into the body) - a bit tried of normal focal length pinhole :P

Pentax DA 40 XS

I was deliberating if it makes sense to use this one for a Q cameras. But finally decided that it would be fine to have equivalent of 150/2.8 used on APSC with minimum focusing distance of 40 cm. For me this lens is usable starting wide open (with some fringing problems, but no problem for many subjects) and really good when closed down.

This lens looks fine on the Q!

The wide open shots:

Next ones approximately at f 4 - f5,6:

Takumar 200/5.6

This is a small and lightweight lens. It is very good on APS-C and on the Q sensor it seems at least usable. Sample shots on original Q were made "wide open" and I had to set ISO to 250. I used a carton placed on the window bank as a support. Shutter speeds for some of the shots were really long, so I expect at least little sharper images in the good light.

Sorry for the boring subjects. Images developed in RawTherapee, sharpened after resize to web size.
