I still have to click on it, and the image is smaller, even when I hit the + icon. I've never seen an image on this forum without clicking on it first. Is that a Java script?

I think my ad blocker might be disabling it.

Yeah, something in your setup (and if using mobile interface, that would be different). This thread is images top to bottom, I don't have to click on anything...

I don't have the faintest idea what you are talking about. My images seem to work just fine. What is BBCode? What line are you talking about?

Make sure to copy the code from the box "IMG"
If you are doing it the same every time then there must be a problem elswhere.
The alternative is when writing your post, click on the icon with little picture of the mountains and in that window insert the link from the Photobucket block called "Direct" and it will be formatted properly.

I really am at a loss. I can't wrap my head around the idea that I should post smaller images. I don't want to have to scroll through a whole screen of images.

I'll bookmark your entry so I can remember what to do. I've never had this problem on other forums.

We are not talking about requiring smaller images, just want to be able to see your images in line without having to click to go somewhere else to look.

The way the index on the first page works is if someone sees a lens they want to check out, they click the link from the index and it takes them to the post with the samples.

By placing a link to Photobucket instead of the image in the post , now you are asking the user to click another link to see the picture.

Sorry if I am not being clear, I don't know how else to explain it.

I'll do it your way, but it seems that I'm giving up a lot just to get a smaller image with no metadata.

You don't have to. Some users won't click the link, but it's up to you to present your images how you want.

The reason I bought this one was because I wanted something shorter than my 700mm reflector (Orion Spaceprobe 3). That reflector is quite often too long for what I do, e.g. the full moon image is larger than the 1/1.7" sensor (half moon is OK if I orient the camera appropriately). 480mm is a good focal length for the full-ish moon on Q7, though probably it's still too long for the original Q. Anyway, here's a moon shot (stacked multiple images, then PP in Lightroom):

Have a chance to grab a wallensak 4.5 and some little Olympus lens of of a small camera about the size of half frame worth getting for the q.. the Schneider lens pics look amazing are you making your own adapters or are they available

It has taken me a while to work out a way to get some macro extension on my 70mm 110 lens. The lens alone can only focus as close as about 1.2 metres away.
So I bought some Q extension tubes but the shortest one is 10mm and has a too dramatic effect with the camera only able to focus up to about 400mm away.
So I took the metal ends off the longest tube and glued them up to a 40.5 filter ring (glass removed) and this made a nice little 6mm ext tube.
This gave the 70mm an operating range of approx 400 to 700 mm.
I would have to say that even with this mod it is quite a difficult macro lens and is best left for portraiture stuff.
The first 3 images are at f2.8 (wide open) the last 2 with a ringbinder ring stopping it down a little. Apart from the obvious gain of a little more DoF I don't think the 70 responds greatly to being stopped down.
The last image of the red manuka is with the 10mm ext tube. The flower is 12-15mm across.

I use araldite in these type of modifications. It is strong enough for these light weight lenses.

CA in high contrast is controllable, so long as you shoot between f5.6-8 ; Plus it's Green/Violet, so It's not as blindingly obvious as Red/Blue.

Bumped up contrast in Silky. Helps hide the grain.

I've got the new Sigma 150-600 on a Nikon mount. It is vastly superior to my 150-500 Sigma on my K3, in terms of sharpness and focusing speed. I might get a Nikon adapter to try on my 'Q' and see if it's better than the 150-500 was.

I bet for a good to very good IQ, Sport or Contemporary. (and same for the Tamron). From 800mm to 3300mm with the little Q when you need it... Just the step beyond 900mm with the APS-C.

I have the Contemporary and it seems on a par with the Sports for IQ. Shame they won't do a Pentax K mount. I wonder on the Q if it would be any good for astro shots? Probably too much transverse movement I guess. Moon might be interesting.
