new q owner groupon 199.99 kit w/ 01 lens

Hi: my first post here, just bought a q after reading and learning much from you all. The groupon offer is back on now for 199.99 with the 01 lens. Just thought someone here maybe interested. cheers thorn

Welcome to the forum. That is a great deal on the Q/01 kit. Bet many will buy the setup to get the 01 prime lens.
Can't wait to see some of your pictures. Are you more interested in the Q as a compact shooter or tele-macro adapted lens monster? The Q handles these extremes better than any other camera system.

Don't forget extra batteries and do the firmware updates for the body and lens. The Q packs a lot of fun. Enjoy.

Atleast this body I'll be able to get the extended warranty, and maybe sell/gift the white Q. My order was #61 already, seems to be a growing interest in this camera still.

Edit: They (Groupon) seem to have a sense of humor.

Thanks, The compactness is big reason, but the tele uses are also of interest. I'm also interested in seeing how the focus peaking will work with macro uses. Looks like fun!

Thanks! I too am now $218 lighter thanks to your post.... I have been waiting and watching the Q, wondering when they are going to run out and just how low the price will go. I saw another deal with the 02 lens for something like $250 the other day. I wanted the 01 lens, so this is just timely.

Looking at the title and description of this sale, it says it is the 01 prime kit. However, the image of the camera/lens has the 5-15 zoom lens.

I wonder which one you guys will get.....and the fine print says "final sale - no returns".

Here's a link for those not reading the Price watch sub-forum. Groupon $199 Deal

There's a bit a chaos in the description, shows the 02, text says 01 prime. Even says Standard 01 prime zoom lens in one place. I guess we'll wait and see what's delivered. Either way it's a good deal, I hoping for the 01 even though I have the 01,02 and 06. I think the white Q might be easier to sell (if I go that route) with a 01 vs 02.

Shows over 120 sold so far... might not be anyone left to sell my white Q too!

Wish I had waited a week. Got the $246 bundle from shopnbc, and now I just bought this in the hopes it has the prime lens (which is the one I wanted all along). And now I have a spare body

Got one! I couldn't find the groupon site but did a search for the Hubble attachment quip and there it was. The prime will likely be priced more than $199 when it comes out separately in February. Thanks!
