Computar Lens H0612FI for 1 2 CCD Cameras C Mount New I | eBay

Not sure if this one is better than the pentax one because many complain the pentax 6.5mm is not sharp

This is a CS-Mount lens, not a C-Mount!!! I didn't see any CS-Mount-Adapter, yet.

It's only for 1/3" sensor!

OK, thanks for the catch.
I did notice the second one is for 1/3" but it might vignette a bit?

I was also looking into cosmicar/pentax 4.8mm but they are fixed focus.

I just noticed the C-mount lens I bought from eBay is for 2/3"... Is this a good or a bad thing as far as vignetting? I'm new to the whole C-mount lens thing.

All C-mounts I have met [wide/tele/zoom] have covered the full Q sensor (=no vignetting)....thanks/Erik

Since the Q sensor is 1/2.3", it should be covered by C-mount lenses that are 1/2, 2/3, or 1". But there will likely be some vignetting with a 1/3" lens.

Good info. I'll stay away from the 1/3" lenses. You guys are a font of information.

If you see a C-mount labeled as 1/3" it's probably a mislabeled CS-mount lens
which you can't use anyways...so there will be no vignetting... Thanks/Erik

[see example below of mislabeled CS-mount]

I can give some background on the phrase "baby death". Century Optics, a division of Schneider Optics, came out with a very well regarded 37mm fisheye adapter that was nicknamed "baby death" by the skateboarder community because it did such a great job for their videos.
I'm a long time lurker on the forum, but this post has been nagging me for seven years. Today I finally mustered the courage to register because I simply want to point out that it was called the Baby Death because it was a smaller version of the Death Lens.

I found some kenko 0.5x wide angel attachment, which you can put it like a filter.
Are these good or rubbish like other cheap brand?

Or it will be better to go with C-mount wide angle lens? suggestion? Most of the C-mount lenses have 5MP only that's what worries me.

I don't need utlra sharp picture but I want something better than a DC.
02 zoom lens is out of my budget
I have owned several of the those front converters, and frankly, none of them has worked very well.

Welcome srsly, you waited for a long time didn't you!
It seems like there's still a demand for the original Death lens. Petition · SAVE THE CENTURY OPTICS MK1 FISHEYE! · Change.org
I cannot find the spec of Baby Death from Century Optics, I can only guess that it's not as wide as 0.3x if it was smaller than the Death lens. Thanks for the trivia!
