CCTV 2.5mm CS

One of the CS lenses I received when I ordered a C mount was a 2.5mm and I chose to keep it. I ordered a D to Q adapter from E Bay $12 US and had it drilled out to 1" then glued the lens into the adapter. Mistake #,1 I forgot the flange distance of the D mount (12.29 mm) was slightly closer than the CS mount (12.52 mm) and assumed I could still focus, wrong. I had to beat the lens out of the adapter to break the bond of super glue. Just cosmetic damage. and add a shim, This time I used trial and error to obtain a good distance to achieve infinity focus, cut a shim and glued the lens in.

It seems quite sharp and absolutely a keeper.

D Screw mount (8mm movie lens) to Pentax Q mount adapter on eBay!

I ordered a #EL-2.5mm Fixed aperture f2 C Mount Lens (received CS) Super-Wide Angle from Ellipse Security through Amazon $19.95

So far I like It

Glad you like the outcome. Thanks for letting us know how you did it. What did you use as the spacer for the flange distance?

I ended up sliding in a piece of cardboard until the glue set then removed it. Like I said above I tried to focus the lens with the spacer to make sure I got infinity before gluing the lens in place.

I wonder if your 2.5mm is a sister model to this fixed focus C mount/2.5 : L025F - Fixed Iris Lens C/CS Mount 2.5mm F:1.6 1/3" | COP, USA, Video Surveillance, CCTV Equipment, Camera, Security Products, Surveillance Equipment, Security Camera, Surveillance Camera

( per this previous thread : https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-q/200668-wide-angle-c-mount-lenses.html )

If there was just some easy and cheap way to tap out that 1-32 thread into a D adapter .. I wonder what common Home Depot items also use the same thread??

The L025F is what I ordered it's a C Mount I believe but they sent me a 2.5mm CS like the other one on the same page as your link the LN-TL25 - C/CS Mount it turned out to be a CS only. A C mount lens can be adapted to a CS camera with a 5mm spacer but a CS can not be adapted to a C mount camera. I took my D adapter to a machine shop and they did not have a 1-32 tap, that is an extremely fine thread unique mostly to cameras so I had them bore it to a slight press fit to the 1" thread then glued it. The D adapter is only about $16 is plus shipping, I am told by Spysonic that the 2.5mm C Mount is no longer being made???
