I like how Sweden is right in the middle of the day part of the map.
Well there's not a great amount of "night time" in the middle of June up there is there? so hardly surprising.

You might have to change you username for the Summer.

Nah, I'm more of a winter guy and the winter is, as you know, pretty lacking when it comes to light.
I missed the night tonight, it was evening and suddenly it became morning. I guess that you astro guys laugh at me with in evil tone now.

Lots of moon shots! Has anyone tried wider angle solar shots? Sun spots and flares?

Took this photo 2 nights ago.

Has anyone here done Long exposure photos trying to capture something like the Galactical plane of the Milky Way? Should I know anything other than: Wide open, High ISO, 10-30 seconds of exposure?

Jupiter + Gemini Constellation. Tried to capture meteors. Ran out of battery before I caught a lucky shot of a meteor.

love reading through this thread I am building a little barn door tracker atm to try out with the Q (and K5II), also have a Tair-3 300mm lens on the way to test

Unfortunately in the middle of a very hot summer, so conditions are not ideal, but ill try anyway! I assume you are all mostly using the official Pentax adapter for these shots? Has anyone used the official K > Q adapter with the official M42 adapter as well? I discovered that the M42 adapter does not work in my jinfinance K > Q adapter, it doesnt seat propertly and just rotates around inside the mount...

Oh and here is my moon shot through some smoke, with Sigma 70-200mm HSM II @ 200mm f4.0, about a 50% crop

Good moon shot jezza323. Interested to see more. Especially want to see your tracker in action.

I just tried the Pentax oem Q-PK lens adapter with the Pentax oem m42 adapter. It works perfectly, like one would expect from Pentax. You will love the Pentax Q-PK adapter. It is so much better.
thanks

now all i need to do is find one Pentax AU dont even list it on their official web store

B&H are out of stock

Adorama want almost half the cost of the adapter for shipping

Keep hunting i guess!

EDIT: and just shot through some holes in the clouds, Pentax Q, Sigma 70-200mm HSM II @ 200mm, f5.6 i think, with Quantaray 2x TC, for 400mm FL (2200mm f11 equiv), only a very slight crop this time

Aurora Borealis

I thought that I could share these links with you.

Recent solar activity should make observation of aurora borealis possible.

Incoming Coronal Mass Ejection could trigger G3 (Minor) Geomagnetic Storm conditions

from: Aurora Forecast

You can eventually observe a live broadcast of Northern lights here

Hoping I am not too late for this one as I got the info in the news this AM...
