A wide on the Q would be less than the normal 8mm. The fisheye is approx 3.4mm. 5mm is equivalent to ~28mm on 35mm. There is a planned wide prime for the Q. We don't know the specs yet. Get a Q and join the fun.
thanks

I have the 50mm and the 70mm 110 lenses and they are very nice on the Q -- decent telephoto while still being quite compact. So far have only used them wide-open, but they are sharp. I have some lensbaby discs but not the smaller apertures for some reason so I just ordered a new full set so I can stop down a bit...

vonBaloney, the Lensbaby 2.0 and Muse come with aperture discs from f2.8-8. The 3G, Composer, and Composer Pro added f11, 16, 22 because these lenses allow seperation of focus and bending and could be used on a tripod.

The little testing done with the 18, 24, and 50mm 110 lenses show greater quality stopped down to~ f4 (ap disc f11). Plan on trying ap disc f16 next. Think this will be ~f5.6. Also have the 110 teleconverter to try out.

Had a chance to buy the 70 and 2.8 zoom after they quit making 110 film and before the Q. Passed since I didn't need three 110 outfits. Arghhh.

Have fun experimenting

Reminds me, haven't painted/ flocked the 110 adapter yet.

How is the aperture size calculated?

I played with the ones marked f4 and f5.6 on the disc, and couldn't see a whole lot of difference. If your numbers are right, then I see why, I need to use the discs marked f11 and f16. I would like to modify an adapter to fit an aperture assembly out of an old camera, but don't have time to find a donor at the moment.

This Q is a fun camera to play with even if it is a bit fiddly with adapted lenses.

The Lensbaby aperture discs are calibrated to fit in front of a Lensbaby lens. The Lensbaby aperture discs that come with the fisheye are inserted in the middle of the lens( it unscrews inhalf). For the same f stop, these discs have totally different hole sizes.

We are using the standard Lensbaby ap discs behind the 110 lens. This changes every thing. I also tried f4-5.6 discs with no effect. Finally put Q on tripod and metered plain wall without ap disc. Kept changing out ap discs to see Q meter change approx 1 full step. It was the f11 disc.

Disclaimer: don't remember which 110 lens I used for the test. All 110 lenses had to be designed to have same f2.8 max aperture. The aperture adjustment is in the 110 body so it seems all lenses have to work equally. Appears to be the same with rear mounted ap discs in our Q adapter.

Adjustable aperture would be neat. Wonder if it is really needed? 110 lenses are going to yield 3 usable apertures before diffraction gets too bad.
Enjoy experimenting with the Q. Love to see some 110 lens images. Especially the 70mm.
thanks

Yeah, with the lensbaby discs I have (waiting for the full set), the smallest one is about the same size as the lens rear opening so it doesn't do anything. The discs do fit in there perfectly though so looking forward to getting the smaller aperture discs -- glad I didn't have to bother going to the hardware store trying to find something...

Was amazed at how perfectly the LB discs friction fit into the Fotodiox Q-110 adapter. What luck. Bent the end of a paper clip with a 90 degree hook to remove ap discs. Just stick hook thru disc hole and pull thru the back of the adapter. Without tool you must remove lens from adapter and adapter from body to push ap disc out.
thanks

I've actually been kind of eying a set of these for my Oly. I'd like to try them out on mine. But I'm seeing some crazy prices on these sets. One person wants $40 for the whole thing, the next $300. Since I'm never going to use the cam it almost seems a waste to go there and I'm not into paying that much for them given their limitations really. I'm just curious because of their size mostly.
