Sandisk ultra or Sandisk extreme

Hi

Will 30MB/s on Sandisk Ultra suffice for shooting 1080p, continuous shooting and RAW shooting or I need the extreme version with 45MB/s.

I've looked everywhere and can't find any info on this, not even manual mentions it.

regards

Memory is very cheap these days. You can probably find some Extreme cards for the same price as the Ultra cards.

Specifically on the Q, I did not see an improvement in write performance when comparing ULTRA 30mb/sec vs EXTREME 45 mb/sec SanDisk cards.

The Q10 may be able to take advantage of the higher write as I believe it is supposed to have faster performance, but I don't have one to test.

I have both type cards so use the Extremes on the K-5's and the Ultras on the Q's.

As Pauld states you can find Extremes at similar prices as Ultras, at places such as Costco or when they go on sale at B&H or Adorama.

Don't try BestBuy though as I find their memory prices are way out of whack.

It probably won't make a difference. Sandisk cards tend to be pretty great. One of my cards is a Sandisk Ultra 15MB/s (class 4). Its old, but it works perfectly well with my K-r and K-01, probably better than my Sony 16gb card (which claims some crazy speeds, but doesn't deliver any noticeable improvement). After looking at some online tests, Sandisk cards often perform better than advertised, while other brands tend to struggle.
