Q10 and flash sync adapter?

I have recently purchased a flash sync adapter for my Q10, so I could use it with my studio flashes I normally use with my K-5. Strangely, the adapter doesn't work on the Q10 and works as it supposed to work on the K-5. Does anyone know what am I doing wrong? This is the adapter: Vakupapucs adapter

You have to turn the Q's built-in flash off for the hot shoe to work. Have you done that?

Yep, done that. Actually, my 540FGZ works fine with the Q10...

Hi pihe,

Try this -- go to the flash menu and choose the last option to the right -- flash "Off". This is very counter-intuitive, but seems to be the only way to get a non-dedicated, non P-TTL external flash to fire with the Q. The PC adapter is essentially the same as using a non-dedicated flash, and should work with this setting.

Hi snostorm --- you're a genious! Thank you, it works! I would never thought that I have to turn off flash to use it... (This does not really fit in Pentax's "everything is logical" concept.)

Glad it's working. I guess I should have been more clear in what I meant by turning off the built-in flash.
