Toy telephoto experience?

Has anyone tried the toy telephoto lens? I wouldn't expect much from it, but just curious...

I think pbancr is referring to the 05 toy telephoto lens:

Obviously asking about the "toy telephoto" is a question about the toy telephoto, yes.

I only paid £20 for mine, which it was certainly worth. It's slow and it doesn't have a shutter, but it's smaller than most adapted lenses, and sharper than those it doesn't beat in size.

You're right, Stan. Thanks for clarifying...
I was considering the toy telephoto to hold me until the 06 zoom becomes available...

Ya know, you might consider the Fujian 35mm / 1.7 C-mount lens and an adapter. The whole works would set you back maybe $40, and it's quite good. Plus it's fast, gives you more reach than the 06 tele (200mm equiv. on the Q) and has a variable aperture. Also nice build quality.

There's also a 50mm (280mm equiv. on the Q) Fujian with the same IQ & build quality for only a little more money.

Just throwin' that out there.

And of course Gibby means the 05 when he says 06 here. Perhaps numbering the lenses wasn't Pentax's best idea.

I too think the Fujian 35mm is worth owning, but it's not really competing with the toy tele as it's not only twice as long but also much bigger and heavier. I'm happy to own both.

Here's one with the Fujian. Not really comparable conditions to the 05 shot above though.

You bought it from SRS? I really should have got the Toy lenses when they were cheap.
