Movie of a hawk.

Shot with a Pentax Q, Promaster 1.7x teleconverter, and a 300mm F* f4.5 lens. 2800mm equivalent. There's quite a bit of atmospheric distortion despite being a very calm morning around 26 degrees F.

Actually, calm wind can lead to more of this thermal atmospheric turbulence -- nice sunny day so the air warms up for a while into a nice big bubble, then kicks off and rises as a thermal (just what this hawk is looking for to soar upon). Nice looking video and I'd guess you were something like a hundred yards away?

Cool! I've ran into the turbulence wall with a 300mm on the Q before so I think your video is quite amazing!
