You are probably right but I don't think the OP was even attempting to test his gear that adhere to any standardized method. He compared the DOF of Q+01 at f3.5 and the DOF of K10D+35 Limited at f7.1 and deemed it similar for his needs. Yes, the test is flawed in too many ways, rendering the results more or less useless but still his blog was an interesting read.
