Just bought a Pentax Q body on the cheap

How should I go about getting a lens? What is the cheapest way I could get hold of a lens? Which lenses are compatible with the Q?

I've been looking at Pentax mirrorless cameras for a while but I went on ebay today and the item only had 3 minutes remaining and was at £60 so couldn't really start looking into it, I had seconds to make a decision, so that is why I didn't do the obvious thing and find this stuff out first.

Many Thanks

The bargain method would be a basic adapter, about us$25 to almost any mount. If you have Pentax lenses that's our first choice around here but whatever lenses you can find will adapt so buy what matches up with your most available lenses. They will mostly be really telephoto though - a 28mm lens with the small sensor will crop to an effective 170mm or so! Native Q-mount lenses are fairly rare and expensive but make the most portable option; I bought mine with the 5-15mm zoom but most swear by their 8.5mm prime. Other 'toy' lenses are available, good lenses but with limited purpose (e.g. fisheye) - and a new telephoto zoom of 15-45mm is out now.

Or you can buy the 02 zoom and get a free Q body with it at Amazon.com for less than Adorama's price:

It still cannot beat the $189 newegg deal.

Agreed, but hasn't that come and gone? And they don't ship overseas.

My next trip to the US is July, and I don't think there'll be any Qs left by then. I think I'll go with this Amazon deal while it exists.

Agreed. I think if you really want a Q, the extra $40 isn't worth quibbling with. I paid $250 each for our first pair & later got in on the NewEgg deal for our 2 "spares". (Yes, we're a 4 Q household. We're a bit nuts.) It's such a smashing little gem of a camera, I still don't regret the $250 I spent on the earlier deals.

Though a lotta folks prefer the 01 prime, I like the 02 zoom. It's plenty sharp, and I like the versatility. It's not really that much bigger than the 01, either.

I paid more than $300 for my Q.
While I think it is worth it, I can get 2 for $189 each for what I paid.
If you can get a better discount, why not?
If I am getting the second one, I will wait for the neweggs deal.
