Q usb cable/adaptor

I'm going to have a go at this project:
GetawayMoments: How to Make a Cheap and Easy Ikea Time Lapse Panning Unit Part 3

I have the Ikea timer, however seeing as Pentax decided to poke the USB port out the bottom of the camera on the Q, it's going to make mounting it tricky.
I can obviously lift it up a bit; but I dont exactly want it to be poking up too far.
So, what I've after is either a 90deg adapter or a replacement cable with a 90deg end on it.
I *beleive* the usb plug type Pentax use is a 8-pin Mini-B connector

I don't understand why you need to access the usb port? Why not just use the tripod mount?

Mount the camera upside down. Find a spare hotshoe cover and glue it onto the top. You just will need to flip the photos in PP and you will have access to your usb port.
