Just a thought on Q Adapter.

What if the base and internals of an AF kit lens minus the glass was fitted
to a cheap K adapter, could you have auto aperture, shutter, focus confirmation and all Modes ?
Could cost less than the Pentax adapter.

Don't think it would be that easy. But because of the manual diaphragm, I think it's still fairly convenient to meter with the K to Q adapter, though!

Your "auto aperture" would be far too close to the plane of focus to work as an aperture (it would mostly just limit the image circle).
The shutter might work, but is probably too small (and also too close to the plane of focus).
Focus confirmation doesn't exist on the Q as far as I know. If it can't move the glass it's not going to do anything for you there.

Although the aperture aspect is interesting it is in the wrong place to work, but the concept of the Q adaptor having different functions other than being a hollow tube (ok I know there is a nice leaf shutter) is interesting.

I was thinking more the internals of the SMC-F 1.7x AF adaptor would be interesting as an option. It would give a measure of AF to the legacy lenses.

I also think that just like old cameras where shutters were manually set and reset, the same could be applied to the aperture. Where you manually set a trip mechanism, (spring loaded) and the camera , knowing the selected aperture, could do wide open metering and then compensate for when the lens stops down giving correct exposure still and at the same time giving automatic aperture and open aperture metering and focus

It would not or should not be too hard to implement
