I updated yesterday and I haven't noticed any problems. It did reset all the settings but I expect that for a firmware update.

I am recharging my battery as I type in order to do the upgrade. I have no real configuration to loose, so I am just looking to upgrade. Leaving on a business trip Monday and am planning on taking the Q and leaving the K5.

Well, I own 4 Q's now, but 1 of them is in transit and another is unopened, so only had two to update.

As for the bug, soon after the upgrade, both the Qs started making a sound that sounded either like aperture was stopping down and opening intermittently or the shake reduction was activating and de-activating, even though I didnt press shutter button. Only seemed to happen in Av mode with DOF preview assigned to green button.

I tried it just now, couldnt reproduce the issue in either Q.

I did think it was a bit of a pain to rebuild the settings on my "converter" Q - I can't imagine what the guy who has four would feel like.
That'd be me you're talking about. :-) No biggie. Only 2 are in use & they both have the same settings. Took maybe 3 minutes per camera to restore the settings. The other 2 we have are new bodies we keep as backups.

Guess I'm gonna have to re-upgrade once they get the bug sorted out.

I rarely play with the quick dial on front of the Q. Did they add some effects with this fw? Don't remember seeing vintage color before. Can't find it on my yellow K-01 either. I do have the previous fw on SD card, if this one is a bust.
thanks

The Q is now fun even faster.

I just installed it, the AF is almost instantaneous. Nothing broke . . . yet.

I have some problems getting AF lock @ 5mm on the 02 lens, but I had this issue in v1.10 also. Otherwise no issues.

Blackcloudbrew wrote that it reset the shutter count. Shutter count now is only 21, no wonder it feels like a new camera!

The English warning is quite ambiguous:

Latest PENTAX Q Firmware Update : Software Downloads | PENTAX RICOH IMAGING

"We are sorry to inform you that the software version 1.11 is temporary not available."

The Japanese version is more explicit:

PENTAX Firmware Update Software for PENTAX Q????????????????????????????PENTAX RICOH IMAGING

ただいまファームウェアVer1.11に不具合が見つかりましたので = we just found a bug in the firmware version 1.11.

一時ダウンロードを中止させていただいております = we will cancel the download for the time being.
Does anyone know what the bug is?

Hopefully it was "accidentally included way better focus code than you are supposed to have with that model". Resetting the shutter count would be a real bug, though, and make this firmware a useful commodity for dishonest sellers on the used market in a few years. ("Only 12 activations!")

It resets the shutter count, no doubt.

Does anyone have this FW hosted anywhere for download? I didn't get it from Pentax before they pulled the download and I wouldn't mind giving it a try while we wait for an update. Thanks.
