Perhaps FW 1.11 bug fixed

This appears to be different than the original download, and it extracts larger. I haven't installed either one - and don't plan to be the guinea pig.

It's exactly the same as the one I downloaded on march 28. And the server says "Last-Modified: Thu, 28 Mar 2013 00:57:43 GMT" too.

The file was created Tuesday, ‎March ‎12, ‎2013, ‏‎1:55:40 PM per the properties of the file. Has anyone found any bugs yet. I have been away from internet access for a few days and just found out about this firmware yesterday. After reading the thread I really want this update but I don't know if I want to do it now. The file is available on the link above and I did download it so the link works??? The pentax.jp site still has the warning and states the file is temp not available. The file is still available on the Pentax US site and they do not have the warning and the download works on the US site. I did download both the link above & from the US site and the files have the same create date??? I have not installed one yet, something about this guinea pig thing got me also.

Other than what I mentioned above, nothing found. But is it really that critical to get faster autofocus now?

Why not just wait until they've fixed whatever bug they came across? It's not as if your camera can't take photos right now without v1.11. If I hadn't already updated, is be waiting for them to fix it first.

Just an FYI the Q10 also got a firmware update, it's file dated 3/18/2013 and it has not been removed. AF improvement was listed as the update.

Thank you for the reply. I thought of doing it today as I'm going to a concert in the evening, and faster low light autofocus seemed as a good idea Manual focus and waiting for the fix it is then

I found v1.10 had significant improvements over v1.01 for low light AF so if you're on that hopefully it's good enough.

Otherwise, if you want to risk it, bring two memory cards, one with new and one with old firmware. I don't think you'll come across anything majorly broken in new version though!

So is a new version up now? Downloads & Literature - PENTAX Imaging USA
I guess my shutter count won't go back up after the bug from the first version. Anyone needing an used low-shutter count Q, "I've barely used it"!
So with the buggy version of the firmware you can reset the shutter count how often you want. Buying used Q's will never be the same again.

Still people seem to use that stat as a basis of the grade of use.

Better to just call it "camera actuations"? Mine was at 1004 and now at 42. In the event that i sell the Q i will add that # to any inquiries. Had i known i would have waited. Maybe they will add additional features with the new update.
