Sorry, my mistake. I jumped from the country setting to the date and time setting and then pressed settings complete when I should have done that first before moving on to the date and time and selecting OK again.

I kind of like the botched tone expansion of 1.11 vs the correct effect. Oh dear, what to do. Lol.
thanks

This would be a great use for the front quick dial. Spin thru your different favorite firmware updates. An industry first for Pentax!

Weird that they kept the shutter reset count. I guess shutter counts of used Q's won't be asked for in the future. :P

WRITE ERRORS !
New firmware 1.12 gives me multiple errors ,half of the pictures missing in about 25% of the shots yesterday. Also underexposed .
The thumbnails are all there but both the Raw and Jpg are bad.
Same card and no problems with 1.10 or 1.11, switched back to 1.11 and so far all OK ..............................?

I do that every time I update - but now I know about it so I give myself a "Homer" and go back and make the changes again.

I had almost the identical problems with 112,missing pics.
I have all the prev.updates on disk,so reinstalled v111.
All is back to "normal" and working great.I just re-downloaded v112
from PTX jp.Will install it again and see what happens.

Oh, dear. It appeared to go alright but now the Q won't power up. When I press the power button, I hear a click, the screen lights up very dimly, and then it shuts down - and that's it. Yes, the battery was fully charged and the bin software was on a freshly formatted SD card.

Try opening and closing the SD card door. (Because this is exactly what the camera does when the door is open, so it's probably just the sensor for that being confused.)

Thanks for the suggestion,

I've tried that - changing SD cards and leaving the battery out for a while,

I suspect it's off to the importer next week.

Very sorry that you've got a faulty Q. I do appreciate your sharing what is going on with us. I am staying with v1.11 for the time being.

Thanks Doc. It might be a good idea to wait. Others might have similar problems.
