First review of Q 06 tele zoom lens.

P.S. It's strange that Australia gets this lens first and the don't have Q10 yet...

His review is so rue, I was blown away by the bokeh from he 06, I had thought it was not possible on the Q. The 06 lens has added a whole new dimension to the enjoyment of my Q's.

06 Review

Thanks for posting. The 06 is a gem and IQ is better than I expected; quite sharp even at f2.8.

Beyond 40mm, my copy totally blows until the aperture gets smaller than f/5.6. 80% of the frame is too soft to be usable.

Groovy review i83N, with some nice photos, and tips thrown in!
The only down side is, now I have to have the 06 too!

I will check it out even if that guy sometimes seems to have anger issues. I missed a "#Iphonography" tag on his Twitter, a website I was almost new to, and asked him "what camera did you shoot with?". A short while later he just called me moron, idiot and stupid and blocked me, really mature behavior. I ain't the first one to get completely flamed either.

With that being said I would love the telephoto zoom! Many times I walk around wishing I had a pocketable tele lens with a shutter for some bird photography.

I just returned the Q to K adapter and ordered the 06. The adapter was not making me happy. I have high hopes for the tele lens, but if I need to stop it down twice, that will not do it.

Sandy, your SIM photos are very nice.

If you're waiting for a Swedish dealer to have it in stock (as I did for too long) I recommend you stop. The better dealers don't list it, because Pentax aren't really selling it in Sweden yet, but you can order it anyway. I ordered mine from Cyberphoto, and it took about a month before Pentax sent them one, and now I have it in my pocket. (This is also cheaper than the dealers that actually list it.)

Mine is useable wide open at any fl. The corners aren't fantastic on the long end, but it's not something I worry about.
