Questions about the Q

Hi guys,

I was shooting with my Pentax Q today. Was wondering why the red light at the front of the camera next to the lens kept blinking constantly?

Thanks.

Have you put it on "remote"?

You left it on the "Control Remote" drive mode!

What do you mean? I'm just shooting it in auto mode. I read the manual and it says its the AF assist light/self timer light. Do you know why the red light constantly flashes? I'm indoors.

See the circle of buttons on the back, hit the one on the right. Scroll through your options of either single, continuous, or timing shooting.

You have your camera set for Remote Control.. Touch the right button in the 4-Way controller with the circle and a slash. On the LCD your selection is second from the end on the right - it reads Remote Control and has three sub-choices.. Use the 4-Way Controller buttons to move the selection to the far left, in the green box. You will then be set in Single Frame Shooting and the light will stop flashing.

Ah! Thanks so much. Felt like such an idiot.

Also the light does flash on occasion for focusing right?

Thanks everyone!

I bet we all done that once or twice!
Yep, when the light is low, you can turn it off in the menu (AF Assist light)).
