Source?

Did a Google search and don't come up with anything.
It looks like they are gone from eBay. Two possibilities come to mind - either they had a production run and sold out or they were hit with a legal notice because they are nearly exactly like the OEM Pentax model.

In my searching, I did find a JJC Australia site that shows the hood, and it says for pre-order, so I am assuming (hoping) that there is another run in the works.

Thanks for that Larry. Your search skills are sure better than mine!

I checked out the first vendor - seems legit enough. They carry mostly JJC and Falcon Eye gear which is all decent. Going to order from them since they take PayPal so I will have that protection if needed.

So far so good. Order placed 5/27 - received shipping confirmation with tracking number 5/30. Being shipped via Hongkong Post Air Registered ($5 shipping). Left Hong Kong 6/1 - just checking the tracking number at USPS and it shows as passed through sort facility at Bethpage NY 6/4. Looks I should have it in a couple days now.

JP, I just placed an order of the same jjc lens hood from colorapples wholesale electronics (one of the two links provided above by forum member crewl1) for 11.67 or 12.23cdn. Will let you know when I get it.

I ordered the JJC hood for 01 prime about a month ago, but the company cancelled the order. It looks like there may have been another production run. I wasn't sure what was happening, so I bought the original Pentax hood from Henry's. I bought a couple of cheap 25mm pinch caps on eBay. They work well but I rarely bother to use them. As on my DA 40mm, the cone-shaped hood provides pretty good protection for the front element. I bought a third party 06 bayonet hood which I haven't received yet.

I like the 25mm squeeze caps on the 01 hood - they work great and are much easier to use than the screw-on cap.

My 06 hood is the JJC one - also works great but the bayonette is a bit stiff.

Good you posted ... I was ready to hit the button.
I'll wait a little longer when you get yours.
