I have a suspicion that I'm gonna wind up with an 06 one of these days.

Thanks for posting those Dan. I've considered buying this lens but it has to be good to justify the extra expense and I have been put off by some users feedback. However, those shots look pretty darn good at 45mm. I can see you've kept the shutter speed nice and high which makes the main difference

It is a good lens, but it sounds like mine may be better assembled than some. It's important to remember that this is a telephoto lens, shutter speeds need to match the equivalent FOV, i.e. 80-250mm = 1/80s to 1/250s. The tulips were waving in the breeze. Maybe I should have used a higher speed than 1/500s, but I wanted to keep ISO down.

I exchanged a Pentax Q to K-adapter for the 06 lens. No regrets, the results with the 06 are superior to any of the fine K primes I tried. I like the compact size, and having AF is a very nice feature. I did end up buying a third party Q to K, with tripod mount and aperture ring, then I ordered a second one with neither feature. I don't expect I'll use them much, but it seemed wrong not to have the capability.
