Ugliest Macro Setup around with the Q?

I have a Lomo Smena 40/4 T-43 lens from a broken Smena 8m that I'm trying to convert into something for the Q, maybe a tilt or macro. To try the macro performance of the lens I did this horrendus looking thing with a toilet paper roll and a rubberband with a magnification about 2.2:1-2.5:1 if I measured correctly. Can you really go cheaper? At least the purple rubberband matches the rest of the setup quite well.

It's pretty much non-handholdable, both optically and build-wise but I got two almost decent ones. Look at the size of the pollen in the pics!

One stabilized shot of the house wall. Once again the size of pollen tells a story.

And now to the set up ones showed in the pic with the lighting.

F5.6

F4

F5.6

F8

Quite impressive for a pretty much free diy setup like that ey? Sadly the setup was brutally murdered by its worst enemy, gravity. It had an exciting but short life though.

See, this is why I love this forum. Macro via toilet paper tube and rubber bands. Priceless. I love how you're using your real lenses as a stand for the leaf you're photographing.

Keep the craziness coming, VD! Don't let gravity get you down!

We used to have a kids TV programme here in UK called Blue Peter, they were forever making stuff from toilet roll middles and sticky back plastic.

Never saw them do this though.

You nailed it with your last sentence!
Lets see it I remember the stands. On the left side it's my brother's Samsung 30/2 tilted by something I can't remember. On the right site it's one Sigma Pentax rear cap, 70mm Limited cap and a M50/1.4 cap. Lighting is the headlight seen and a flashlight I held in my hand. The "lens" support is a Samsung NX battery. I took what was closest to me.

Never made a free macro setup? Pff, they did nothing then.

I have my Sigma 105/2.8, but it doesn't even com close to 2.2:1-2.5:1 magnification! Not to mention the difference in cost and fun level.
