the x10 adapter is awesome i've some plants growing time lapses i'll show you in some days, my Q10 have been working for 10 days withouth rest xD

I actually cut the battery top off on mine to gain some more room for the wire. There were nothing inside that part of the battery container and it still works as before. Fixed it up with some tape afterwards so as not to leave it open.
