Hi there,

just bought a Q with the standard zoom a few days ago (was a real bargain), next thing was - the fish eye. Never would have thought that this tiny beast of a lens would bring so much fun !! I live and work in St.Petersburg/Russia and one of my frequent things to do in my spare time is urban exploration in this crazy and unbelievable city. Beside the wellknown historic city center with all those famous buildings you find lots of narrow courtyards with houses, abandonded industrial sites and many many other things to catch especially with the fish eye. I never made up my mind buying such a lens for a DSLR-system - but the Q is just perfect for that kind of shooting and it doesn't set you back a few hundred dollars. Some examples from my first walk-arounds with the "03". All of them shot in RAW, processed with Silkypix and Snapseed. Hope you like it:-))

Gibby, I agree the Q makes a super vacation camera. Your interior dome shot is great.
ve2vfd, cool effect using camera processing with fe.
pinholecam, nice image.

Robtcorl, fun image of a frog's eye with a fisheye.
pearsaab, like your wall of sanity. Not sure I could work all day and not see the outdoors.

quotawolf welcome to the Q forum. Show us more of your country.
thanks

Thanks much. It was actually a handheld shot, as were all of the interiors I took with it. It might be a fixed f:5.6, but unless the lighting is truly awful, you can get away with handheld shots indoors with the 03 thanks to it's extremely short focal length. Love the 03. It's one of my favorites.

Hi,

thanks so far for the comments !

@barondla: Russia is not exactly my country, I'm German but have been living here for quite a while now...
I've attached some more shots. One of them shows the Smolny cathedral with interesting sky and clouds above. Shot yesterday as HDR plus Silkypix PP.
Right now the city prepares the soon-to-come G-20 summit, so much repair works is under way. Part of that you see in the second pic. Third one is in the nearby Taurida Garden - a nice and comfortable place to relax and stroll around. Fourth one shows a stylish alloy wheel of a wedding stretch limo which is very popular here...
Enjoy !
