Based on the measurements I've seen, it looks like C-mount lenses designed for 1/2" sensors will not cover the new Q7 sensor, which is 7.44 x 5.58 mm. The 1/2" C-mount sensor is 6.4 x 4.8 mm. I've used 1/2" C-mount lenses and they work fine on my Q because that sensor is 6.17 x 4.55 mm. It looks like for Q7 users, they'll need to use C-mount lenses designed for 2/3" sensors (8.8 x 6.6 mm) and bigger.

Hopefully! I have a 3.6mm for a 1/2" sensor I'd probably like to use on the Q7 when I get one.

Specified coverage is only loosely related to actual coverage, and people worry to much about it. So what if you have to crop off a little? It will cover fine in square mode, and if you want 4:3 it's still going to be no worse than on a Q. (And likely better, since most lenses cover more than they are specified for. I have lenses specified for 1/3" that cover the Q sensor acceptably.)
