Well, I got an AF160SA and it appears to work well on the Q. I took a series of flash photos with in-camera adjustments of the intensity with positive results! So, perhaps its not "smart" but the camera can control this flash through the Flash Button on the back.

Been a long time since I used this combo. Think I set the camera to f4 and let the flash's auto sensor adjust exposure. Nice size for the Q. Shame Pentax never brought out a small dedicated Q flash. Especially one that could sync at all leaf shutter speeds.
Thanks,
barondla

Nice find bladawiec. A small, dedicated bounce flash is a rare critter. This could be very useful with the Q.
Thanks for sharing,

Thanks,
On attached photo: Q7 with Metz Mecablitz 26 AF-1.
I have had also Pentax AF200FG but it was heavier than this Metz, has no tilting head, has fewer functions and has lower guide number. So this Metz is my choice for Q.

I imagine this Pentax compatibly allows for seamless TTL on a Q?

The Pentax AF201FG is the smallest I have used, and it bounces to 45º beyond vertical. It lives in my Q bag.

This Metz works with Q in TTL.
I have had also other non Pentax flash (Tumax) and it works in TTL with K-5 but make problems with Q.

Looks nice. For $89 you get the kit with the detachable radio transmitter. Have you used it with a Q?

Combo! FlashQ Q20II (BLACK) with FlashQ Receiver (T2, BLACK) ? LightPix Labs

It's not really a tiny flash (although compact) , but its possibilities are amazing. The Godox TT350P is a compact flash offering state-of-the-art specifications: full compatibility with Pentax TTL, a built-in wireless transmitter (can act as master or slave unit), a tilting head, high speed capabilty, etc.

I use this flash with my Pentax Q and it's a breeze. The price is also quite nice considering the specifications.

Cheers!

Does this work with the Q pop-up as an optical slave and operate the PTTL at the same time?
If yes I guess this would be pretty perfect off camera for the Q. Not badly priced either.
