External flash with manual lens.

Hi, I'm new pentax Q user.
Found problem about hot shoe flash (external) with manual lens.

I can fire the external flash at hot shoe only in automatic lens (tested on 02 standard zoom lens).
But i can not fire hot shoe flash when i use a manual lens.

I have one question.
How can i fire the external flash with manual lens?

Thank you for your reply.

Does it have a X-flash sync mode?

The Q requires you to turn off the flash control when using hotshoe mounted flashes with manual lens.
There are a couple of threads around here that describe the settings. I will post a link once I find them.
If you are using an adapter other than the Pentax official K-Q you can only fire the flash at 1/13 sec or slower.

Found this article.

Quoted the message from your link.

So in summary, the Q can use P-TTL flashes exactly as you'd expect. If you only do P-TTL flash, you're fine. If you want to use a P-TTL flash in manual mode, you're screwed. You have no settings that will allow this. And finally, if you want to use a manual flash or flash trigger, you MUST set the "Flash When Retracted" to "Do Not Discharge Flash" AND you must also set the flash mode to FLASH OFF. These are the only settings that will give the results you want!

I use manual lens with manual flash.
I set flash off with do not dis discharge flash. But it still not fire hot shoe flash.
How can i slove this problem.

Thanks.

Is your shutter speed 1/13 or less?

Looks like you have all the options set properly, there must be some incompatibility with the flash.

Is the flash working OK on another camera?

If yes then either there is something wrong with the Q or the flash is configured for another hotshoe type.
