Pentax Q on mobile website Mobile.Pro

I was just asked to write a quick blog post about the new wave of colored devices in the mobile space. I led with the Q, and the production team decided to really push it with some Q product shots. Here it is:

Does the Future Have To Be so Drab? And Gray? | Mobile.pro

I'm always happy to get Pentax some ink when I get a chance...

Hi John:

Good writeup; maybe Pentax is on the leading edge with their colour combinations! At least in Japan they seem to be quite popular.

Oh my!
Sweet in pink!

I can see that selling well if it was displayed like that on the window shelf of a 'boutique store' .

It's a nice, succinct piece of writing, John. Certainly, no reasonable person could accuse you of bias.

One thing I sometimes notice in commentary in blogs etc is the tendency to snide remarks on Pentax's colour strategy, which I happen to think is actually a good thing if it creates sales for the company. Nikon has piggy-backed on it in a small way, which gives the lie to the notion that colour makes for a non-professional appearance. While some Pentax colour combinations are well over the line of conventional western taste, others make for a simple statement of difference – who wants to be seen as unimaginative in a creative field of endeavour?

Superb write up John. Clearly written with a dash of fun. Now, if only Pentax would hire you as a consultant.
thanks for sharing
