On both my k-x & k-5ii, they didn't turn themselves off. I turned them off & removed the SD card. I'm pretty sure that you're going to have to send it in. It sounds like an error occurred right at the end of the firmware update. There are methods to recover a bricked Android with a copy of the original ROM. I don't know if any of those methods exist for a camera.

Thanks for the help everyone. I've tried just about everything at this point, but it looks like I am going to have to send it in. Hopefully the repairs won't be really expensive.
